Medical Education & Fellowship Grants

Sirtex is proudly committed to helping develop, maintain, and increase the knowledge, skills, and performance of healthcare professionals. Results of such activities may lead to greater understanding of the therapeutic areas that we treat, our products and their potential applications, as well as improved patient care. Sirtex offers support for these goals and continuing education programs through independent medical education grants.

An independent medical education grant is a type of grant which consists of Sirtex funding for independent medical education activities or initiatives which serve to maintain, develop, or increase the knowledge, skills, and/or professional performance of a healthcare professional (e.g. continuing medical education, continuing health education, continuing education). These activities or initiatives may or may not be accredited.

Independent Medical Education support by Sirtex is only provided in response to an unsolicited written request and not conditioned on the use, purchase, prescribe, or recommendation of any Sirtex product.

Our grant review and approval process is in full accordance with the recommendations and the guidance of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Final Guidance on Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities, the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Compliance Program Guidance, the AdvaMed Code of Ethics on Interactions with Health Care Providers, the American Medical Association (AMA) Ethical Guidelines for Gifts to Physicians, and National Physician Payment Transparency Program: Open Payments "Physician Payment Sunshine Act", as well as other relevant guidelines and regulations and internal Sirtex policies.

Support is awarded based solely upon educational merit, alignment with our areas of interest, and availability of resources.
